Bethann R. Lloyd

Bethann R. Lloyd is a partner in the firm's Pittsburgh office.  She concentrates her practice in the defense of legal malpractice cases, professional liability defense, general insurance defense, employment litigation and civil rights matters.

Ms. Lloyd is an invitation-only member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, where she currently serves on its Board of Governors and chairs the Academy's Diversity Committee. 

An active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Ms.Lloyd is a Co-Vice Chair of the Professional Liability Committee, a trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Funds and Trust Fund and a member of the House of Delegates.  She frequently lectures on risk avoidance and ethics for lawyers.  She is also a member of the Allegheny County, American and West Virginia State Bar Associations and is a Judicial Evaluation Commission (JEC) Investigator.

Ms. Lloyd has been selected nationally by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America annually since 2012 for Legal Malpractice Law and Insurance Law.  She was also named the Best Lawyers 2017 Legal Malpractice Law - Defendants "Lawyer of the Year" in Pittsburgh.  Named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2005 through 2008, Ms. Lloyd was elevated to PA Super Lawyer status for the past nine years.  Considered among the best in their profession, Super Lawyers represent the top 5% of the practicing attorneys in Pennsylvania.  

Ms. Lloyd is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia.  She is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third, Fourth and Sixth Circuits.

Ms. Lloyd received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1991 and her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1994.
