Biography

James J. Green, Esquire graduated with honors from Rutgers College with a B.A. in English.  While at Rutgers College, Mr. Green was a successful Division I athlete in the sport of rowing, competing in both national and international regattas.  Upon graduation from college, he then pursued a law degree at Rutgers School of Law – Camden where he served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Law and Religion and taught Constitutional Law at Camden High School for the distinguished Marshall-Brennan Fellowship Program.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Green entered private practice in center city Philadelphia defending insurance companies, businesses and individuals in both liability and workers’ compensation matters.  

Since joining Cipriani & Werner, P.C. in 2008, Mr. Green has concentrated his practice in the defense of retail establishments, recreational facilities and restaurants.   In this capacity, Mr. Green defends businesses in premises liability, products liability, ADA, weights and measures and consumer fraud actions.   

Mr. Green also has substantial experience defending veterinarians from malpractice claims involving prized Thoroughbred and Standardbred racehorses.  In June of 2016, Mr. Green obtained a defense verdict in a highly publicized veterinary malpractice case following a contentious two week jury trial, in which the horse racing syndicate suing his clients claimed the deceased horse to be worth Three Million Dollars.

Mr. Green has been selected by his peers as a New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.  In 2015, Mr. Green was elevated to partner in the New Jersey office of Cipriani & Werner, P.C.  Mr. Green is also a Member of Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM).

Mr. Green defends his clients in state and federal court as well as municipal court throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
