Jeffrey T. McGuire

Jeffrey T. McGuire is a partner in the firm's Harrisburg office.  He focuses his practice in general civil litigation including construction litigation, professional negligence, insurance defense, personal injury, subrogation and veterans' disability claims.  In addition, he represents local and statewide associations as both general and special counsel, and also represents licensed professionals before the various Pennsylvania licensing boards.

Jeffrey T. Mr. McGuire is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a Pennsylvania Supreme Court accredited agency.  He also serves as an arbitrator for the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. and is a certified mediator through the Lancaster Mediation Center.

Mr. McGuire worked as an actuary at two different insurance companies before deciding to go to law school.  He uses his actuarial knowledge and skills in many aspects of his practice, including his insurance defense practice and any case involving future losses.

Mr. McGuire has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and Philadelphia Magazine for civil litigation.  He was also selected as a 2003 Lawyer on the Fast Track by the American Lawyer Media and as one of Central Pennsylvania's Forty Under 40 award winners in 2002 by the Central Penn Business Journal.

Mr. McGuire has presented seminars to lawyers and/or paralegals in Dauphin County and the surrounding counties in central Pennsylvania.  He has served on the Speakers Panel for the Professional Liability Committee and has presented seminars on legal malpractice avoidance.  In addition, Mr. McGuire has participated in the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Leadership Institute Program.  He also assists with the Widener Law School's Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at the Harrisburg campus.

Mr. McGuire is a member of the Civil Litigation Section and the Professional Liability Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Court Relations Committee and the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Dauphin County Bar Association.  He is a Senior Hearing Committee member for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and a member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute.

Mr. McGuire is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is a former elected member of the Central Dauphin School Board and a past-president and former board member of the Harrisburg East Shore Kiwanis Club.  He is also a former board member of the Clinton County United Way and the Clinton County Kiwanis Club.

Mr. McGuire received his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1988 and his J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1994.
