Biography

 John C. Devine, Jr., received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Scranton in 1990.  In 1993, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Temple University School of Law.

Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Devine began working as an associate for the Central Pennsylvania office for a Philadelphia based litigation defense firm.  After six years, Mr. Devine was elevated to partner at his old firm and continued to work in that capacity until he joined Cipriani & Werner as a partner in December of 2012. 

Over the past 20 years, Mr. Devine has tried hundreds of cases to verdict in the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation system.  He has represented clients at all stages of the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation system from the Workers’ Compensation Judge level all the way to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. 

Mr. Devine has successfully been involved in the prosecution of individuals fraudulently receiving workers’ compensation benefits.  Furthermore, he frequently participates in lectures, seminars and presentations on workers’ compensation law to clients, attorneys, and employer organizations and associations.
