Leigh A. J. Ellis

Leigh A. J. Ellis is a partner in the firm's Harrisburg office.  With over 30 years of litigation experience, he focuses his practice exclusively on defending healthcare providers in medical malpractice matters.  He has defended hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, long-term acute care hospitals, large practice groups and individual providers, including physician extenders and nurses, in cases involving almost every medical specialty.

In 1991, Mr. Ellis began his civil practice defending general liability, products liability and medical malpractice cases.  In 1993, he began exclusively defending healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases and licensing issues, and has continued to do so for the past 24 years.  He is frequently invited to lecture on multiple healthcare topics throughout central Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Cipriani & Werner in 2015, he co-founded the law firms of Ellis & Porr, P.C. and Foulkrod Ellis, P.C.

Mr. Ellis is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania.

He received his B.A. from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 1985 and his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law in 1988. 

Mr. Ellis currently resides in York, Pennsylvania with his wife, Cindy, and their two dogs.
