Attorney Purwin-Ryan Speaks at ABA Program on Cybersecurity Breaches and Its Impact on Medical Devices

Carolyn Purwin-Ryan, an attorney in our Philadelphia office, recently spoke at the American Bar Association's seminar on Current Issues in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Biotech Litigation.

Ms. Purwin-Ryan participated in a session entitled Effectively Addressing Cybersecurity Breaches:  The Inherent Risks, Impacts of Security Decisions, and Practical Approaches in which her panel explored the vulnerabilities and risks inherent with embedded and connected devices and the range of impacts these have on medical devices.  The discussion also included practical approaches companies could employ after a breach, but also broadly addressed how to more effectively manage cybersecurity risks, including engineering, policy, expertise/team makeup and others.
