Christofer D. Merritt is an associate in the firm’s Metropolitan New York (Woodbridge, NJ) office.  He concentrates his practice in New York workers’ compensation matters.

Since being admitted in 2013, Mr. Merritt has primarily focused on civil litigation.  However, he found his niche in defending employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in New York workers’ compensation matters.  He has experience handling all aspects of workers’ compensation claims from successfully arguing for the disallowance of claims to settling claims in his clients’ benefit to avoid future liability.

Mr. Merritt is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as in Federal Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the District of New Jersey.  This has allowed him to represent a variety of clients across multiple forums, ranging from small claims matters to winning oral arguments before U.S. District Court Judges.

Mr. Merritt received his B.A. from Virginia Tech in 2008 and his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2012.  While in law school, Mr. Merritt was on the Jessup Moot Court team.  He also participated in the Small Business Clinic where he assisted local entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses, as well as the Real Estate Practicum where he gained experience working for both a title insurance company and a local real estate law office.

Mr. Merritt enjoys spending his free time with his two young sons and wife in Bergen County, New Jersey.
