Over the last several years, there has been an exponential rise in cyber related incidents impacting companies of all sizes and of varying market segments. Mr. Loyal serves as breach counsel to these companies, providing guidance and legal counsel to impacted entities. Specifically, Mr. Loyal specializes in coordinating the breach response for his clients by closely working with companies to help identify the nature and scope of the incident and ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal and international laws. He works with his clients to provide regulatory correspondence and to handle any resulting litigation arising from a cyber or privacy matter.
Additionally, as Managing Partner of the firm’s first-party incident-response practice, Mr. Loyal oversees a team of attorneys who specialize solely in breach response, and through his leadership, has spearheaded the growth of Cipriani & Werner’s Cybersecurity Breach & Litigation team, making it one of the largest and most experienced breach response practices in the country.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Loyal had the unique experience of managing cyber claims for a leading cyber insurance carrier. Thus, he is well versed in working with his clients in conjunction with their cyber insurance provider.
Mr. Loyal is admitted to practice in New York, as well as the U.S District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Mr. Loyal received his B.A., cum laude, from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2007 and his J.D. from New York Law School in 2010, graduating magna cum laude.
