Joseph D. Csipak is a partner in the firm's Mt. Laurel office.  With over 25 years of litigation experience, he concentrates his practice in defending the interests of employers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in New Jersey workers’ compensation matters.

Mr. Csipak began his legal career as in-house counsel for CNA Insurance Company in New Jersey.  In this capacity, he handled the defense of general liability claims culminating in Superior Court jury trials and represented employers in workers’ compensation claims.

In 1996, Mr. Csipak left CNA to join a captive defense firm representing the interests of Kemper Insurance Company.  This practice focused solely on the defense of New Jersey workers’ compensation matters filed against employer insureds.

In 2002, Mr. Csipak left the defense practice to join a reputable plaintiff’s firm specializing in the prosecution of personal injury and workers’ compensation matters.  During this time period, he tried several cases to jury decision and handled numerous workers’ compensation matters, along with real estate closings, criminal defense cases and divorce proceedings.

After working with an interim defense firm, Mr. Csipak joined a well-known plaintiff’s firm in 2006 as managing senior associate of its Elizabeth, New Jersey office.  His practice was limited to handling workers’ compensation matters.  After coming to the realization that he was not suited for plaintiff’s work, Mr. Csipak joined Cipriani & Werner in 2008.

He is admitted to practice, and has appeared, in all state courts in New Jersey.

Mr. Csipak received his B.A. from Kean University in 1988 and his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1991.
