Kevin M. Mekler is a partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office and a member of the Cybersecurity Breach & Litigation practice group.  As an experienced privacy, cybersecurity and incident response attorney, he focuses his practice on guiding organizations of all shapes and sizes through the incident response process after a data privacy or security incident has occurred, including from initial triage and investigation through performance of legal and regulatory obligations the organizations may have.  Mr. Mekler also advises organizations of their data privacy and information security obligations under applicable laws and assists them with their compliance efforts.

Mr. Mekler developed extensive experience as a trial lawyer and a deep knowledge of computer-related events and crimes both as a practicing lawyer in fidelity and as a managing director and counsel of a team of professionals handling crime, cyber and kidnap and ransom (K&R) claims.  This experience informs the compliance strategies and recommendations he makes for organizations, particularly those navigating unique operational situations in the privacy and technology space, as well as his guidance before, during and after a data privacy and security incident.  He also served as a Target Intelligence Analyst for the United States Air Force.

Mr. Mekler received his B.S., cum laude, from Park University in 2000 and his J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2004.
