Nathan D. Hughes

Nathan D. Hughes is a partner and Chair of the Workers' Compensation Practice Group in the firm's Pittsburgh office.  With almost 20 years of litigation experience, he concentrates his practice in workers' compensation matters.  He has particular expertise in the interplay of the rights of Medicare versus those of employers/carriers in liability settings, and is a frequent speaker on that topic for clients and lawyers for professional credits.

Mr. Hughes joined Cipriani & Werner in 2005.  He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Before returning to his native Pittsburgh to attend law school, Mr. Hughes worked in several media markets across the country as a television anchor and reporter.  Much of his time was spent covering sports, but he also spent time as an investigative reporter, co-hosting the Jerry Lewis Telethon, and hosting outdoor and cooking segments of local newscasts.

Mr. Hughes received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1995 and his law degree from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2003.

He resides in Pittsburgh’s South Hills with his wife and two children.  He is active in the community soccer program and the leadership of Y-Guides/Y-Princesses, a YMCA father-child program.
