Paul J. Cohen is Of Counsel in the firm's D.C. Metro office.  He focuses his practice in commercial law and creditors' rights, representing both regional and national financial institutions.

Mr. Cohen began his career in 1985 in the creditors' rights practice group at a large regional law firm's Baltimore office.  He assisted in the successful bankruptcy fraud prosecution of a real estate "hard money" lender, in which prosecution resulted in a significant distribution to the bankruptcy estate's creditors.

Through the years, Mr. Cohen has handled foreclosure cases, as well as large loan workouts and loan originations for financial institutions.  He has also been involved in large commercial litigation matters.

Mr. Cohen is a member of the Maryland State and District of Columbia Bar Associations.  He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.

He received his B.A. from the University of Connecticut in 1977 and his J.D. from The American University -  Washington College of Law in 1984.

Mr. Cohen lives in Baltimore County, Maryland with his wife.
