John C. Devine, Jr. is a partner in the firm's Harrisburg office.  He concentrates his practice in workers' compensation defense.

Mr. Devine has extensive experience representing the interests of insurance carriers and self-insured employers in workers' compensation litigation in Pennsylvania.  Over the past 20 years, he has tried hundreds of cases to verdict in the Pennsylvania workers’ compensation system.  He has represented clients at all stages of the system from the Workers’ Compensation Judge level all the way to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  Furthermore, he frequently participates in lectures, seminars and presentations on workers’ compensation law to clients, attorneys, and employer organizations and associations.  He has also been involved in the prosecution of individuals fraudulently receiving workers’ compensation benefits.

Upon his graduation from law school, Mr. Devine began working as an associate in the central Pennsylvania office of a Philadelphia-based litigation defense firm.  After six years, he was elevated to partner and continued to work in that capacity until he joined Cipriani & Werner in December of 2012.

Mr. Devine is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  He is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, Dauphin County and Lackawanna County Bar Associations.

He received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Scranton in 1990 and his J.D. from the Temple University School of Law in 1993.
