Attorneys Andrew Foulkrod and Eric Lauerman recently received a defense verdict for a family practice group after seven days of trial.  Through experts in family practice, infectious disease, pulmonology and vascular neurology, plaintiffs argued a failure to properly supervise a physician's assistant and follow IDSA/ATS guidelines relating to antibiotics for the treatment of pneumonia with co-morbidities, resulting in stroke.

The defense distinguished the applicability of the guidelines under the circumstances of the presentation, and contended that the outcome was not related to the claims regarding supervision and/or antibiotics.
