James W. Layne

James W. Layne is an associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office, and he focuses his General Liability litigation practice on premises liability, product liability, and motor vehicle matters.  Clients find Mr. Layne attentive and responsive to their needs, and he helps them succeed by finding the most practical solution to the problem at hand.  In his 20 years of experience, he has learned to understand every client’s tolerance for risk and to be pragmatic about the options of trial, settlement, and mediation.

James W. Mr. Layne worked on insurance defense litigation matters for eighteen years prior to joining Cipriani & Werner, including work at two large, Philadelphia-based law firms.  He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Lynchburg College and his J.D., cum laude, from Widener University School of Law.  During law school, he also interned as a law clerk for Chief Justice E. Norman Veasey of the Delaware Supreme Court.

When not practicing law, Mr. Layne loves to do woodworking and spend as much time as he can outdoors.
