Maria D. Cruz is an associate in the firm’s Long Island, NY office.  She concentrates her practice in general liability defense including New York Labor Law (construction accidents), construction defect, product liability, premises liability, motor carrier litigation, and personal injury litigation.

Ms. Cruz began working with Cipriani & Werner as a law clerk while completing her final semester of law school and was elevated to associate after passing the New York bar.

She regularly engages in all aspects of general liability defense from inception through trial, including expert retention and consultation, discovery, conducting and defending depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.  She has represented insureds, owners, contractors, doctors, insurance companies, and municipalities before State Courts.

Ms. Cruz is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of New York.

Ms. Cruz received her B.A. from Zicklin School of Business, City University of New York Baruch College in 2018.  She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2024, where she was a Notes Editor for Touro Law Review and Vice President of Employment and Labor Law Society.
