Mary Ellen Conroy is a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office and a member of the Board of Directors.  With over 30 years of experience in federal and state courts handling complex casualty defense litigation, Ms. Conroy concentrates her practice in complex general liability, defending architects and engineers, defending cases involving professional negligence allegations, defending Title VII, Title VIII, and Title IX claims, complex construction litigation, municipality litigation, dram shop litigation and security premises liability.

Ms. Conroy is a court-appointed Mediator and Arbitrator for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  She has also been certified by the Pennsylvania Trial Advocacy Program.

Ms. Conroy is a member of the following organizations:   Pennsylvania Bar Association; Philadelphia Bar Association; Florida Bar Association; Pennsylvania Defense Institute; Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel; Women in Transportation; National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel; Defense Research Institute; Insurance Women of the Main Line; National Association of Professional Business Women; NAIW International; and Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc.; Cape May County Bar Association.

She has been serving as a judge pro-tempro in the First Judicial District of Philadelphia since 2000, and previously served as an Adjunct Professor at Widener University School of Law.

Ms. Conroy is admitted in all Pennsylvania state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  She is also licensed to practice in New Jersey and Florida. 

Ms. Conroy has received the highest level AV® Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell for professional excellence and ethics.

She is a 1989 graduate of Drexel University where she received her dual bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, as well as Marketing Management.  She received her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1994 attending night school and working full-time during the day.

She resides with her family in Lafayette Hill, PA. 

Ms. Conroy enjoys volunteer work with numerous legal and charitable organizations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
