Matthew Pittman

Matthew Pittman is a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office.  He primarily concentrates his practice in defending general liability and motor vehicle accident cases, and he represents employers, insurers and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Prior to joining Cipriani & Werner, he worked for another defense litigation firm in Atlanta. Before private practice, he was also an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Georgia Attorney General’s General Litigation Division.

Matt has defended and tried numerous cases in Georgia courts. He has defended cases with successful results including a variety of issues before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and Georgia state and superior courts. He has also handled appeals in multiple cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals.  Matt has been selected as a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers annually since 2020, which recognizes only 2.5% of lawyers in Georgia under the age of 40 based on peer recognition and professional achievement. Matt is licensed to practice law in all courts in Georgia and the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. 

Matt received his B.A. from the University of Georgia in 2007 and earned his J.D. from Mercer University in 2013 where he graduated cum laude and was a member of its Law Review. Matt resides in Atlanta with his wife Whitney and two sons Graham and Gabe.
