After three postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the attorneys at Cipriani & Werner, P.C. were able to convene from April 21 - 23, 2022 at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Bedford, PA for the firm’s annual attorney retreat. The following significant and exciting announcements were made by Jack Kincaid, the firm’s CEO.
Effective immediately:
Gregory C. DiCarlo, continuing as the Managing Partner of the firm’s New Jersey and New York offices and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors, will become Chair of the firm-wide Workers’ Compensation Practice Group taking on the responsibility of management, development, and growth of the firm’s robust Workers’ Compensation Group.
Anthony W. Hinkle, a partner in the Philadelphia office, was named Chair of the General Liability Practice Group for C&W’s Pennsylvania region, which includes the Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Scranton, and Pittsburgh regional offices. In addition to managing the PA expansion of existing business and acquisition of new lines of litigation work, Mr. Hinkle will continue as a member of the Board of Directors.
Amy A. Shwed, a partner in the Scranton, PA regional office, will assume the position of Chair of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Practice Group charged with the management and development of this practice area, as well as the responsibility of expanding that group throughout the firm.
Angela B. Taylor, who joined C&W in November as its Director of Insurance Client Services and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, will continue in that position and become Co-chair of the firm’s DE&I Committee. Angela brought 20 years of experience in the risk industry, most recently with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she provided guidance to enhance panel law firms’ efforts to strengthen DE&I, improving hiring, promotion, and retention practices relative to diverse talent. Angela will work closely with current DE&I Co-chair, Mary Ellen Conroy to further elevate the firm’s already award-winning DE&I initiatives.
Effective July 1st:
Pittsburgh-based partner Heather J. Zambelli will become the new Managing Partner of the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA regional office. In this role, Ms. Zambelli will manage and oversee the day-to-day business, as well as the development of all practice areas within the Pittsburgh office.
Greenbelt-based partner Sarah N. Koop was named the Managing Partner of the Greenbelt, MD office and will continue its steady growth and evolution into new practice areas. She will manage all attorneys in the WC, GL and Banking practice groups located at the Greenbelt office.
Pittsburgh-based partner William B. Pentecost, Jr., will assume the role of Chair of the General Liability Practice Group for the Pittsburgh office and will be responsible for the management, development, and growth of that group. Mr. Pentecost will also continue in his leadership position as Co-Chair of the firm-wide Transportation Practice Group.
Pittsburgh-based partner Nathan D. Hughes will continue to serve as Chair of the Pittsburgh Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. Mr. Hughes will be responsible for the management and development of that group and will direct its continued growth and business development activities.
